About the UCS Superhero 5K and Kids' Dash
The course starts at the Bennington Recreation Center on Gage Street and heads through downtown. Costumes are part of the culture here, with superhero gear showing up across the field. A separate short kids' run goes around the fenced field next to the building, led by local police officers, making it a genuine outing for families with younger children.
Packet pickup for the timed run happens the evening before at a location to be announced, with race-morning pickup available as a backup before the start. The race benefits a United Counseling Service program that teaches young people to raise and sell chickens and eggs, so there is a real local cause behind the entry fee.
