About the Turtle Trot 5K
The course runs along a paved path through SunWest Park, circling around what were once salt mines. It is a flat, paved route, so footing is easy the whole way. The race benefits an adaptive and inclusive parks program in Pasco County, and it is held in memory of a local parks administrator whose work shaped that program.
Packet pickup happens race morning before a brief pre-race meeting, so there is no separate day-before trip to plan. The park itself is worth arriving a little early for, especially if you have not been to SunWest before.
