About the Turkey Trot at Wahlert High School
This Thanksgiving morning race runs through neighborhood streets near the high school where it starts and finishes. The shorter distance loops the surrounding blocks, and the longer option simply repeats that same loop, so the course is familiar underfoot by the end. The roads are residential and the terrain is manageable, though street courses in this part of Dubuque carry a hill or two.
Packet pickup runs the evening before in the school gym, with a second window on race morning. Both distances go off at the same time from in front of the school. Age-division winners in each race take home a certificate for a turkey.
