About the 28th Annual Turkey Trot 5K Run / Walk
The course runs on the campus of a state college on the edge of Punta Gorda, and the surroundings are open and flat with that particular quiet you get on a holiday morning. The race has a loose, celebratory feel, partly because it falls on Thanksgiving and partly because someone rides a bicycle dressed as a turkey, which you will either love or find baffling.
Packet pickup runs the two days before the race at the Habitat for Humanity office in town, with a second option on race morning at the college cafeteria before the start. The campus is a no-pets, no-smoking site, worth knowing if you were planning to bring a dog.

Finish-Time Stats
Going by the 2025 results, this is a decent-sized field, and the spread of finish times is wide, so this is a mostly recreational race rather than one for club runners.
