About the Turkey Shuffle - Fort Worth
The Turkey Shuffle runs out of the River Side Trail Head in Fort Worth, on park trails through greenbelt terrain. The heat has backed off by late autumn, and the surroundings feel open and natural rather than urban. The trail surface keeps it from feeling like a road race, and the course suits a range of paces.
A DJ keeps things loud at the start and finish area, announcing runners as they come in. There is a Thanksgiving costume contest with a trophy for the winner. Snacks and refreshments are set up at the finish tent, and age group awards are handed out on site.
