Turkey-Donut Predict Run

Fort Collins, CO

Registration openAnnual since at least 2020

About the Turkey-Donut Predict Run

This one is built around a prediction format: you log your expected finish time before the gun, then run the Spring Creek Trail with no watch, no phone, no music. The winner is whoever comes closest to their own prediction, so pace intuition matters more than speed. The trail runs east and west out of the start, and runners are nudged to spread across both directions.

The race is a fundraiser for a local food bank, and a donation on top of the entry unlocks a raffle ticket. Prize packs from local businesses and restaurants go out after the course closes. You must be present for the raffle draw. Registration closes before race morning, and there is no on-site option on the day.

Common Questions About the Turkey-Donut Predict Run

Will I finish last at the Turkey-Donut Predict Run?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 31:57, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:18:59, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Turkey-Donut Predict Run a good first 5K?

A field of 357 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Turkey-Donut Predict Run?

The 5K winner ran 17:06 while the median finisher took 31:57. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
