About the 5th Annual Turkey Day 5k
This is a Thanksgiving morning run through Kasson, organized by a local business and run as a fundraiser for the town food shelf and the Salvation Army. Runners choose their own distance at the start. Most of the course is on streets, with a short stretch through Restoration Park, a newer green space near the north end of town. That trail section has some uneven ground, so watch your footing.
Costumes are encouraged, and there is a costume contest after the run. The post-race spread includes water, coffee, and hot chocolate provided by the Salvation Army, plus snacks. Bloody Marys and screwdrivers are available for those old enough. The whole thing wraps up before the holiday afternoon really gets going.
