About the Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk
This is a memorial race honoring first responders and military, rooted in the story of an FDNY firefighter who ran through a tunnel toward the Twin Towers on the morning of the attacks. The course runs through Cypress, starting and finishing near an environmental education center along Katy Hockley Road. Some participants run in full firefighter gear or military packs, which gives the morning a weight you do not forget.
Packet pickup happens race morning at the start area, with a second option announced closer to the event on the race's social pages. Water is available on the course and at the finish. An EMS team is on site throughout. Strollers and wheelchairs are welcome on the course.
