About the Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk - Tempe, AZ
The Tunnel to Towers 5K in Tempe honors Stephen Siller, an FDNY firefighter who ran toward the Twin Towers carrying his gear after the attacks. That story shapes the morning. Firefighters in turnout gear and runners in military packs are a common sight on the course, and the event opens with a ceremony before the race begins. Water is available along the route and at the finish.
Parking is at an address on Ash Avenue, close to the start. Packet pickup is available on race morning, starting before the opening ceremony. Fast runners can seed themselves toward the front corral. Strollers and wheelchairs are welcome.
