About the 2026 Trot With Ted 5K, 10K and Kids Fun Run
This race is a fundraiser for educational grants to teachers in a local school district, which gives it a purpose beyond the finish line. The school district runs its own internal competition alongside the open race, tracking which school brings the highest share of participants, so students and staff have a reason to recruit their whole building.
Award categories include a Team Hoyt division and a Tantasqua Alumni category alongside the standard age groups, which reflects how deeply the race is rooted in the local community. Professional timing handles scoring, and there is a kids fun run in addition to the longer distances.
