About the 2nd Annual Triple Nickle Remembrance Run

The course runs along Liberty Trail at Fort Bragg, honoring the Parachute Infantry Battalion whose nickname gave this race its name. That unit broke ground as the Army's earliest all-Black airborne force, and the race distance is a deliberate echo of their designation. The event connects their smokejumping missions and their push toward military integration to a morning of running on the base where much of that history unfolded.

If you do not have base access, you will need to stop at the All American Gate Visitors Center before race day to pick up a visitor pass. There is no fee for the pass, but it is worth handling ahead of time so the morning goes smoothly.
