The course runs on a high school cross country trail, which means rolling terrain, natural footing, and the kind of route that feels more like a romp through the woods than a road race. Halloween costumes are encouraged, and prizes go to the best ones alongside awards for top finishers. It is a fundraiser for a local school band program.
