About the 12th Annual Tri-Valley Turkey Burn
The course leaves Ken Mercer Sports Park on a paved trail, loops around the park, briefly touches a side street, then follows the Arroyo Mocho Trail out and back. The shorter route turns around earlier; the longer one continues further along the trail. Both are paved and flat, which suits the Thanksgiving morning crowd of runners, walkers, and strollers with dogs on leash.
Packet pickup runs the day before the race at the park's second parking lot, with race-morning pickup opening well before the start. Bring your registration confirmation on your phone or as a printout. There is pre-race coffee, a warmup, a sponsor expo, and snacks after you finish. Part of the morning is setting up your bib with a personal message before the race begins.
