About the Scrub Jay Trail Race 10k, 5k, 1 Miler
The Scrub Jay runs through a scrubland preserve on the edge of Fellsmere, quieter and wilder than a typical road race. The terrain underfoot is natural trail, and the preserve setting means open sky, dry scrub habitat, and the kind of stillness that does not show up in city parks. Several distance options mean runners of different ambitions share the morning.
The race has a team competition built into it, with prizes for both the fastest team and the biggest one, so groups that come together tend to make some noise at the finish.
