About the Tomorrows Children's Fund 11th Annual Join Hands 5K

The course runs through Saddle River County Park, in the Wild Duck Pond area. The setting is a county park, so expect paved or hard-packed paths through open green space, with the pond nearby. This is a charity race tied to a pediatric cancer fund, so the crowd skews toward families and supporters as much as competitive runners.

Packet pickup happens the morning before the race at the same park location. Signs go up at the park entrance to point you in the right direction. Picking up early is worth it; the organizers actively encourage it to keep race morning moving.

Common Questions About the Tomorrows Children's Fund 11th Annual Join Hands 5K

Will I finish last at the Tomorrows Children's Fund 11th Annual Join Hands 5K?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 31:19, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:04:29, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Tomorrows Children's Fund 11th Annual Join Hands 5K a good first 5K?

It is a small race (152 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Tomorrows Children's Fund 11th Annual Join Hands 5K?

The 5K winner ran 19:05 while the median finisher took 31:19. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
