About the Tim & Jeannie Hamann Foundation Benicia Hand Up Turkey Trot
The route starts at Benicia Community Park and splits into two options: one heads out toward Lake Herman with a hill, and the other stays on the park trail for a flatter couple of laps. The terrain is mixed, so expect pavement and path depending on which way you go. This one benefits a local cancer-patient support foundation, which shapes the morning more than the mileage does.
Before the run starts, there is a costume contest with judging, and categories cover kids, adults, groups, and dogs. The event runs rain or shine, and registration opens early on race morning.
