About the Thunderbird Run 2026: Annual Mahwah Schools Foundation 5K Run, 2Mi Walk and Kids Run

The course starts and finishes at Mahwah High School and heads out along Ridge Road, which gets closed to traffic during the race. It is an out-and-back on a road course, so the route is straightforward. A kids run takes place on the high school track, and vendors set up near the finish area.

Packet pickup runs the two days before the race at a building adjacent to the high school, with race-morning pickup also available. Parking is split between the high school lot and a nearby school lot off Ridge Road, with volunteers directing cars. Those lots close once the race begins, so arriving early is worth doing.
