About the Thunder Bay 5K Run and Walk
The course runs through the grounds of a golf resort on the edge of Hillman, with rolling hills visible throughout. Most of the route is paved, though a short stretch goes to mixed terrain before returning to road. The surroundings are open and green, which makes the hills feel more like scenery than punishment.
Packet pickup opens before the start at the resort itself, so there is no separate trip the night before. The event is put on by a local community health center, and the atmosphere reflects that, drawing people who are out for a good morning more than a fast one.
