About the Through the Decades 5k
The course mixes paved road with a rail trail, so the surface shifts underfoot partway through. It starts and finishes at a community center on Meadow Road. The theme runs through the whole morning: decade-inspired music plays along the route, and many runners show up in costume, disco era through grunge and beyond. Costume prizes go to the best looks from each era.
Proceeds from the race support a local FFA chapter's trip to a national agriculture convention. The race is also part of a regional series called the Sunshine Circuit, so you may recognize faces from other events on that circuit.
