About the Valley's Watermelon Run
The course runs through Westside Park, which keeps things shaded and green for a summer morning race. The watermelon theme carries all the way through, including a themed photo area near the finish. A DJ is set up at the start and finish area, so the atmosphere has some noise to it. Post-race, there is watermelon and a hydration station waiting.
Packet pickup is the evening before at a local running shop on Dove Avenue. Plan to arrive at the park a bit early on race morning, as the organizers ask for time to park and settle in before the gun. Local vendor booths are set up around the finish area.
