About the Turkey Takedown
The course runs at the Jennerstown Speedway, so you are on a racing oval rather than a road or trail. That setting gives the route a flat, wide-open feel, with the grandstands and track infrastructure around you the whole way. It is an unusual surface for a running race, and worth knowing before you show up.
The race goes on Thanksgiving morning, organized by local wrestling boosters. The start area is at the speedway itself, so there is no hunting for a park entrance or trailhead. Post-race, you are back to the infield fairly quickly, with plenty of time to make it home before dinner.
