About the Triboro Adventure Tour

The Triboro Adventure Tour is a navigation race, not a marked course you follow. You are handed a map with checkpoints across three boroughs and figure out the order yourself. The route crosses the Triborough Bridge and moves through Randall's Island, East Harlem, and the South Bronx before returning to Astoria, mostly on open streets shared with regular traffic.

Packet pickup happens at the start location on race morning, so there is nothing to collect the day before. Post-race, there is beer and pizza at the finish, along with a specialty punch and a raffle drawing from sponsors.

Common Questions About the The Triboro Adventure Tour

Will I finish last at the Triboro Adventure Tour?

Almost certainly not. Half the 13.1 Miles field finished slower than 2:25:24, and the last recorded finisher came in around 2:56:13, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Triboro Adventure Tour a good first 13.1 Miles?

It is a small race (25 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 13.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Triboro Adventure Tour?

The 13.1 Miles winner ran 1:35:38 while the median finisher took 2:25:24. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
