The course runs on the cross-country trail at Central Park of Morris County, through wooded terrain with rocks, roots, and uneven ground underfoot. It is not a road race, and the footing keeps you honest. Trail shoes help, though the organizers say road shoes get by. The 5K and the walk share the same trail, so expect some company out there.
