The course follows the Spokane River and the Centennial Trail, moving through stretches of pine forest with the river nearby for much of the route. It is a certified Boston qualifier, so the course is measured and documented precisely. Aid stations come up regularly, each stocked with water, sports drink, gels, and gummy chews, with portable toilets at every stop.
