About the Sedalia Beer Mile
The course is a standard track loop run several times, with a beer consumed before each lap. Awards go to the top finishers among men and women, but the race runs alongside a downtown Oktoberfest festival, so most people are there for the afternoon as much as the finish line. Non-alcoholic and root beer options keep it open to more people, and relay teams are welcome.
The race kicks off a downtown Sedalia Oktoberfest, so there is a full festival around you when you finish. Bring people who are not racing; there is plenty for them to do while they wait.
