About the Scrooge Scramble 5K - Rails to Trails - Vernon

The course runs along a shaded rails-to-trails path, out toward a park and back the same way. The footing is smooth and the tree cover keeps it sheltered. It starts from a church parking lot near the trailhead, which makes the gathering spot easy to find and keeps everything in one place.

Parking is available along the street on the trail side of Church Street and on Birch Street nearby. Entry is handled online, though the organizers do accept checks on race day with a code at checkout. All proceeds go to shelters, a soup kitchen, a food pantry, and a clothing bank run by a local foundation.
