About the Schott Communities 5K Run, Walk, and Roll
This race benefits Schott Communities, a nonprofit that serves adults who are deaf or physically and intellectually disabled, and that mission is visible in the event itself. The route accommodates both runners and wheelchair participants, so the field moves at different speeds and the atmosphere reflects that. It starts and finishes at the Schott Center on South Flamingo Road.
Packet pickup happens the evening before the race at the Schott Center, and same-day pickup opens well before the start. Both the run and the shorter walk-and-roll course begin from the same location, so there is no splitting up to find a separate start line.
