About the 11th Annual Run to End Addiction 5K

The course runs on the campus of a university, and the race itself carries real weight. Memorial signs for people lost to overdose are placed along the route, so the run doubles as a public remembrance. The organization behind it runs long-term addiction treatment programs, and that context is present throughout the morning.

There is a cookout at the finish with food and refreshments. Families tend to make up a good portion of the crowd, and there is a large inflatable obstacle course on site. Runners can also choose to honor a lost loved one through a donation, with a memorial sign added to the course.
