About the Rising
The course runs along the Cross Seminole Trail, out and back from a historic church in the center of Oviedo. The trail is shaded in stretches and the surface is paved, so the footing is consistent throughout. Cash prizes go to the top finishers in both distances, and the race raises money for local charities each year.
Packet pickup runs across two evenings earlier in the week at a location on Central Avenue, with race-morning pickup available at the church. The race packets work on a take-what-you-need basis, with sponsor items available rather than a fixed bag.

The Rising has been held every year since at least 2014. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Jul 27, 2026.
