About the 50th Anniversary Ridgefield Road Fest 1/2 Marathon, 7-Miler, and Iris Fund 5K

The course starts on East Ridge Road, outside a youth activity center that serves as both the start and finish, with a few gradual climbs early on before settling into rolling terrain through southern Ridgefield. A fast downhill brings you back into downtown and to the finish. Several distance options make this a flexible morning for runners at different points in their training.

The race benefits the youth center at the start line, and the 5K portion raises money for the Iris Fund, which supports families affected by premature birth and high-risk pregnancies. A raffle tied to donations adds something extra to the morning beyond the racing itself.

Common Questions About the 50th Anniversary Ridgefield Road Fest 1/2 Marathon, 7-Miler, and Iris Fund 5K

Will I finish last at the 50th Anniversary Ridgefield Road Fest 1/2 Marathon, 7-Miler, and Iris Fund 5K?

Almost certainly not. Half the 13.1 Miles field finished slower than 2:01:14, and the last recorded finisher came in around 3:23:45, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the 50th Anniversary Ridgefield Road Fest 1/2 Marathon, 7-Miler, and Iris Fund 5K a good first 13.1 Miles?

A field of 424 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 13.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the 50th Anniversary Ridgefield Road Fest 1/2 Marathon, 7-Miler, and Iris Fund 5K?

The 13.1 Miles winner ran 1:20:34 while the median finisher took 2:01:14. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
