About the Purple Hope 5k
The Purple Hope 5K runs in memory of Lenore O'Hanlon, who died of pancreatic cancer, and all proceeds go to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. Wearing purple is part of the culture here, and there is actually a prize for the most purple outfit, which tells you something about the tone of the morning. The course is in Nottingham, run out of a raceway.
Parking is a short walk from the start, so arriving early gives you time to settle in before the gun. A raffle table runs during the pre-race window, with all ticket sales donated to the cause.
