About the Piggyback Dash 10K, 5K, 2K
The course rolls through the streets of Union before finishing at the top of Autumn Hill, and that climb is the point of the whole thing. At the bottom of the hill, runners can choose to carry someone up on their back to the finish. It is optional, but it is the tradition the race is built around, honoring the local runner the scholarship fund is named for.
Packet pickup runs the two days before the race at a local shop and a coffee company on the main highway through town, with race-morning pickup available at the start. Parking at the finish area is limited, and the road up Autumn Hill closes before the start, so arriving early and using the high school lot across the street is the easier move.
