About the Pickle Run
The course runs along the beach and roads of Tybee Island, starting and finishing at Huc-a-Poo's, a local restaurant on the island's main highway. The route mixes sand and pavement, so expect a little of both underfoot. The race raises money for the Ronald McDonald House that serves families with children in the hospital, and the family behind it has been running this event for years.
Packet pickup starts well before the gun, also at Huc-a-Poo's. After the race, the celebration stays right there: prizes, a raffle, and breakfast pizza from the restaurant. Registration is capped and closes before race day, so there is no showing up and signing up at the start.
