About the Nick Teddy 5k
This race is a memorial to a Port Byron man who died after years of fighting a rare bone cancer, and the morning holds onto that. It runs alongside Tug Fest, a river festival, so the town is already alive when you arrive. Proceeds go toward Ewing's sarcoma research and support for local families affected by the disease. There is also a fun run for kids.
Packet pickup opens the evening before at a Catholic church in nearby Rapids City, then moves to Happy Pawz Playground on Main Street in Port Byron on race morning. The start area is at that same playground, right in the middle of the festival grounds.

Finish-Time Stats
Going by the 2025 results, this is a small, friendly field, and the spread of finish times is wide, so this is a mostly recreational race rather than one for club runners.

The Nick Teddy 5k has been held every year since at least 2024. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Jul 27, 2026.
