About the Mill District 5K - Great Granny Gallop
The Great Granny Gallop runs through the Bibb City Mill District, a historic industrial neighborhood that gives the course a gritty, character-filled backdrop. The theme is loose and playful, with costume categories for the fastest and best-dressed grannies and grandpas, and plenty of people showing up in pajamas or granny-inspired onesies alongside those running it straight.
Packet pickup happens the evening before at Big Dog Fleet Feet, with an early-morning backup option in the parking lot near the start area. There is food and a snack spread at the finish. Proceeds support several local education and community organizations, including a high school culinary program and early childhood initiatives in the Mill District.
