About the Mayor's Mile
The race takes place on the track and cross country trails at Bishop Fenwick in Peabody. The mile runs on the track itself, with heats grouped by seed time so you are racing people near your fitness. There is also a cross country option on the school's trail course, which gives it a different feel from a road race.
The notable draw here is a raffle tied to the results: top finishers in several categories, plus a handful of randomly selected runners across both distances, win an expenses-paid trip to a mile race in Bermuda. That prize covers a flight reimbursement up to a set amount, hotel accommodation, and race entry.
