About the Last Mile Sunset 5k Run/Walk
This race is a memorial run held in downtown Pensacola to honor a runner killed while out on a run. The route passes through spots that were meaningful to him, so there is a specific reason for every turn. The surrounding streets give the course a genuine downtown feel, and the timing puts sunset squarely in front of you.
The race is held at Seville Quarter, which also serves as the hub for the after party. Sponsors and local organizations set up booths, there is food and drinks, and a silent auction follows the run. It is more of a gathering than a quick-finish-and-leave situation.
