About the Inferno Challenge Englewood
Ann & Chuck Dever Regional Park hosts this summer heat race, and the organizers are not subtle about the point: the terrain is flat, and the sun is the obstacle. Beyond the standard road distances, there is an adventure challenge where teams navigate the park using maps and their own judgment, hunting checkpoints without a marked course to follow.
Packet pickup opens race morning at the pavilion in the park, so there is no need to come the day before. The adventure challenge has experienced racers on hand at the start to help anyone new to orienteering get their bearings before the clock starts.
