About the Hybrid Runner Foundation 5th Annual Turkey Trot 5K
The course starts and finishes at the corner of Hillsboro and First Street, looping through the surrounding neighborhood streets. It is mostly flat city running, with a couple of turns that double you back against traffic on the same roads you came in on. The route is straightforward enough that you never feel lost, and the turnarounds give spectators a chance to see runners more than once.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at Hulen Park, under the pavilion, which is also near the start area. Race-morning pickup opens early and runs until shortly before the gun. Before the race starts, there is a costume contest and a mascot race, so arriving with a little time to spare is worth it.
