About the Great Trailhead Foot Race 5 & 10 Miler
The course runs through Bear Creek Lake Park on packed dirt single-track, with occasional roots and rocks underfoot. A couple of short bridge and road crossings aside, you are on trail the whole way. The shorter distance and the longer one share the same loop, so runners doing the full distance come back through the start area partway through.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at a running store in Westminster. The start area is at the Pelican Lakes shelter, reached by following the park road nearly to its end. Carpooling is strongly encouraged because parking is limited. After the race there are hot dogs, beer, and a raffle tied to a food donation drive.

The Great Trailhead Foot Race 5 & 10 Miler has been held every year since at least 2018. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Jul 27, 2026.
