About the Great Chase
The Great Chase runs on an age-graded staggered start, which means the oldest women go out first and the youngest men leave last, trying to chase everyone down before the finish. Finish position is what earns awards, not clock time, so every runner is technically racing every other runner the whole way. The course is at Frontier Park in St. Charles.

How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Jul 27, 2026.
