About the Grande Firehouse 5k

The course runs through the historic island village, starting near the local farmers market and looping out along a palm-lined avenue past a landmark inn before coming back around to the waterfront. Charlotte Harbor sits off to one side for a stretch, and the streets feel genuinely quiet for a race route.

The island is reached by a toll bridge, so budget a few extra minutes getting there. No day-of registration is accepted, so you need to sort that out beforehand. A chili cookoff runs downtown after the race wraps up, and the event benefits the local fire department.
