About the Grab Bag, An Awesomesauce Event
The course follows a paved path along the Tennessee River, passing behind a college campus on the way out to a dam. The terrain is mostly flat with some gentle rolls. Because the route loops back through the start area several times, you can drop a bag there and grab food or shed a layer each time you come through.
Packet pickup is race-morning only, in the hour before the start. The aid station is genuinely well-stocked, with the kind of spread you would expect at a much larger event: fruit, chips, pickles, cookies, candy, and electrolytes. Flush toilets are available on the course, which is worth noting.
