About the Ford Foundation Turkey Trot
The race starts and finishes at Town Square Park in downtown Hattiesburg, and the route offers a distance for those who want a longer morning as well as a shorter loop for anyone bringing younger kids or casual walkers. The event benefits a scholarship program for single parents and their children, so the crowd tends to reflect that purpose.
Packet pickup runs the afternoon before at a local business, with race-morning pickup available at the park as a backup. After the race, there are snacks and refreshments on site, a costume contest, and vendor booths. Post-race includes an awards ceremony before everyone clears out.
