About the Fools Run - 5th Annual
The course runs on the beach at Margaritaville Beach Resort, with the Gulf right there as the sun comes up. The light and the setting do a lot of the work. There are distance options for adults and a separate beach course for younger kids, and the costume contest draws some genuinely creative entries.
A portion of the proceeds supports Walk for Women, a local nonprofit focused on women facing breast cancer in the Rio Grande Valley. The race runs rain or shine, and the start and finish are both on the beach at the resort, so there is no hunting for the line.
