About the 26th Annual Ed McGuire Memorial Cannonball Run
The race is named for a local figure and started with a cannon firing, which sets the tone for the whole morning. The course runs through Falls Village and is working toward USATF certification. Walkers and runners with disabilities have their own distance option, and the awards ceremony afterward takes place on the town green.
Restrooms and parking are both available in the downtown area, so there is no hunting around before the start. Post-race, the town green hosts the awards, covering all age groups. Proceeds go to the Falls Village Volunteer Fire Department, so the race has a clear local purpose behind it.
