The course winds through downtown Buchanan, staying close to the public library where the race starts and finishes. The route has a small-town feel to it, streets rather than trails, with the surroundings of a quiet county seat. It runs rain or shine.
Packet pickup is held the evening before at the county sheriff's office, which is a short drive from the start. Race-morning pickup opens well before the gun. After the race, free donuts come out at the finish.
