About the Divide Trail Race
The course runs through Thompson Park south of Butte, following the Continental Divide Trail over Pipestone Pass and through old railroad tunnels and across historic train trestles. Most of the running is on single track, with a smaller stretch of gravel and a little pavement. The climbing is real, with the high point coming midway through the park trails.
Both distance options share the same route, with the longer one adding a second loop. The start and finish are at the Eagles Nest parking area in Thompson Park. Snacks and refreshments are at the finish line.
