About the Country Mile 48 Hour - Run/Walk

The course is a loop around a working farm outside Slater-Marietta, and you run it as many times as you choose over the weekend. The terrain is trail, the surroundings are open fields and farmland, and the format is yours to shape. The farm grows strawberries, corn, and produce that ends up at local markets, so the setting feels genuinely rooted.

Camping is included with registration, so most people treat this as a full weekend on the farm rather than a race-and-go event. Packet pickup is the afternoon before the start. Overnight, aid station staffing is reduced while volunteers rest, though timing runs through the whole event. Meal and beer tickets can be added during registration.

Common Questions About the The Country Mile 48 Hour - Run/Walk

Will I finish last at the Country Mile 48 Hour - Run/Walk?

Almost certainly not. Half the race field finished slower than 29:57:37, and the last recorded finisher came in around 48:00:00, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Country Mile 48 Hour - Run/Walk a good first race?

A field of 277 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first race, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Country Mile 48 Hour - Run/Walk?

The race winner ran 2:15:23 while the median finisher took 29:57:37. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
