About the Brothers of Mercy Oktoberfest & Race to Remember
The course heads out through residential streets before entering the Tillman Wildlife Management Area, then loops back to campus. The terrain is mixed, so expect pavement and natural surface in the same run. The race itself is part of a larger evening, with a remembrance ceremony built into the schedule rather than tacked on.
After the race, the grounds fill out with live polka music, a spread of German food including sausages, pretzels, and potato salad, plus donated beer. Basket raffles run through the evening. The post-race scene is the main event for many people, and the ceremony of remembrance gives the whole night a more deliberate tone than a typical fall road race.
